The Commodity Manager – PCB (Printed Circuit Board) is responsible for managing the commodity “printed circuit board” globally. They own the development and implementation of commodity strategies to ensure the availability of high-quality commodities at the best prices. Commodity Managers also take responsibility to monitor market trends, assess risk factors, and identify opportunities for cost reduction or improvement in supply chain efficiency. Their role is crucial in and has a high impact on maintaining a steady supply of essential materials while optimizing costs and mitigating risks in alignment with business and supply chain strategy.
- Commodity Strategy: own and manage Lifecycle management of each supplier within commodity to guide next steps and judge if it fits to commodity strategy (including risk management) on a global scale
- Oversee and manage the value of suppliers within commodity: responsible to evaluate if result of Supplier Performance Management fit into commodity strategy and drive respective measures
- Define and adapt sourcing strategy within commodity: responsible to ensure spend, price development, lead time development, cost saving opportunities and liabilities need to fit into commodity strategy
- Contract management: responsible for ensuring sufficient contract coverage of strategic suppliers and defining what needs to be covered within a contract to support commodity strategy
- Own alignment with Research & Development and product development on future technology demand for the commodity
