Patent Engineer (Senior) m/w/d

Management of the patent portfolio for the development sites in Europe (including Boeblingen, Munich, Amerang and Duisburg)

Coordination of patent matters with Outside Counsel and the Headquarter Intellectual Property Team in Japan

This will include:

• Prior art patent searches and evaluation of inventions with the inventors, brainstorming sessions
• Work with Outside Patent Counsel regarding patent applications, progress monitoring, invention interviews, procedures regarding oppositions, invalidations or disputes
• Preventive infringement investigation and infringement monitoring
• Contact person for patent analyses, trademarks and domain names queries
• Preparation and alignment of intellectual property plan with R&D management and Intellectual Property (IP) Team in Japan
• IP related contract negotiations (IP transfers, joint patent applications)
• Review of technical documents before publication
• Employee Training

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in electronic engineering or equivalent
• Fluent in English and the ability to work in a global team
• Keen problem-solver with self-contained working style in order to understand new fields’ ideas
• Proven track record of project management and cross functional collaboration
• Excellent teamwork and communication skills
• Excellent skills and experience in patenting procedures and IP rights enforcement desired
• Very good knowledge of semiconductor markets, manufacturing equipment, optical and electronic measurements and ATE hard- and software desired
• Excellent Patent promotion and patent management skills desired
• Experience of a wide variety of patent databases and patent search tools desired
